LAKERS vs JAZZ (PRE-GAME REPORT)

The Lakers are looking to improve to an eight game winning streak, 7 of them on the road. Tonight the Lakers take on the Jazz in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Jazz have struggled with injuries all year and still have stars Andrei Kirilenko (ankle) and Carlos Boozer (knee) out with injuries. Derron Williams has picked up most of the slack and is averaging 34 points and 8 assists in the last 4 games. Paul Millsap has been doing an acceptable job at the starting power forward position. He was always known as an extraordinary rebounder, but he has also evolved into a great scorer. It will be a great matchup with L.O. tonight.

Kobe has been balling like "swoosh." Even his "flu-like" symptoms against the Cavs, the Mamba shoot around 50% from the floor with a big 19 points. Last night in a trap game against the Thunder, Kobe went off for 34 points and reached another milestone in his career becoming the youngest player to score 23,000 points in his career.

Pau Gasol was named western conference player of the week after having some huge games when Andrew Bynum went down. It may sound like a broken record, but the man continues his efficiency and dominance. Look for Pau to have another big game tonight.

Lamar Odom has been outstanding after breaking out in Boston. Last night he collected a season high 18 rebounds and chipped in 12 points. The game before that was the best game I've seen him have in about a year with 28 points and 17 rebounds. Mind you it was against the Cavs!

This is the last game for the Lakeshow before the well deserved All-Star break. Break is the keyword and the Lakers definitely need one. Tonight will cap off eight games in eight cities in the past 14 games. Look for the Lakers to finish up this part of the season strong and maintain momentum until after the break.

Newly Acquired Adam Morrison is activated for tonight's game so maybe we get to see him get some playing time. Shannon Brown is not yet activated.
