Lakers welcome Shannon Brown and Adam Morrison

from Lakers.com

Mitch Kupchak’s trade with Charlotte, announced Saturday afternoon while the Lakers were in Cleveland, came to fruition on Monday at L.A.’s practice facility as Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown took part in their first practice as members of the Lakers.

An almost giddy Brown, the well summed up the apparent feelings of both youngsters: “Man … I’m just so excited to be here.”

Both former Bobcats stuck around to work with assistant coaches Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw - plus Trevor Ariza, Josh Powell and Sun Yue - for some extra exposure to the triangle offense.

Afterwards, we spent some 1-on-1 time with Brown (who was picked one spot ahead of Jordan Farmar (26th) in the 2006 NBA Draft) before catching Morrison (the No. 3 overall pick that same year) with the media horde.

We also spent a few minutes picking the brain of Lakers assistant coach Jim Cleamons, who talked about what coaches focus on while teaching new players a system more than halfway through a season.
