LAKERS vs HORNETS (POST-GAME)

LAKERS 100 HORNETS 87

The Lakers jumped on the Hornets late in the first half and kept the momentum going from there. Pau aka Mr. Efficient had a near perfect night. Shooting 8-10 from the field, including a smooth stroking 3-pointer from the corner. 7 Rebounds and 1 block. Kobe lead the team again with 26 points taking only 18 shots and going to the line 15 times, converting on 12 of them. He also had a clean night with 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 0 turnovers. And you all did see the top play on ESPN tonight didn't you? A mosterous dunk from the right side of the rim curling under then jamming on the left with one hand. Bynum had 13 points 7 rebounds and 3 blocks and stayed out of foul trouble, which is key to the next game against the C's. Lamar Odom chipped in 8 points with 8 rebounds and look like he is gaining his confidence back, his benchmate Trevor Ariza put up 10 points with 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

Tonight I saw great ball movement and less isolation plays. The defensive intensity looked like it did in the beginning of the season. David West was held to 5 of 15 shooting, Chris Pauls numbers may be deceiving, 17 points and 10 assists looks good, but the swarming defense from the Lakers is what kept him from scoring 30 and dishing 15. This was an exciting game to play on the road considering that the Hornets are 2nd place in the west, and we beat them by 13. So if the Lakers and Hornets do end up facing in the playoffs, L.A. can get it done on the road, they did twice this season. “Any time you play a team like New Orleans, which is a team that a lot of people expect to be there in the end, you definitely want to send a message,” Kobe Bryant said. The 2 remainder games when these 2 teams face off will be both at Staples Center.

A good win for the Lakeshow tonite. Now it's time to head home and prepare for the biggest game of the year! I have been waiting for this game since the season started. Lakers vs Celtics, Christmas Day. SEE YOU THERE! LET'S GO LAKERS! BOSTON SUCKS!
